Helmet Help
As you may know, the 116th Brigade from Idaho, Montana, and Oregon is shipping out to Iraq in September. There are about 1,500 Idaho soldiers and 1,200 from Montana and Oregon involved.
Two very special ladies, Bea Mitchell and Janet Thaldorf have accepted the challenge of recruiting knitters to help them make 2700 knitted caps for our soldiers to be given as they deploy. These caps are used to help keep the soldiers warm in the winter and can also be soaked with water to keep heads cooler in the summer under the military helmets.
These caps MUST be 100% wool for safety (acrylic yarns can melt in a fire or explosion) and MUST be in medium to dark earth tone colors (black, grey, browns, tans or greens). Won't you please help us with this very worthwhile project for our troops? |
